Guidelines from Talent Acquisition:
Core: Supply the link to the careers page and set the expectation that they don’t get into the system until they will provide resume, contact information, transcripts, and almost all the positions have a small questionnaire. (FYI, even if there isn’t a position they like, there is a catch-all application they can use to get in our system.)
Tell students we are at on-campus career STEM fairs.
Tell students and others about any upcoming open houses.
More:You don’t have to pretend to know what the team is actually looking for in candidates for any of the positions.
Talk about whether they are willing to work in-office (such as whether they live near us)
Talk about what you think is important about our culture, for example
- Growth and the learning and development courses
- Festivals and family involvement
- Stability and vision
Set expectations about process
- There is an infographic on the site showing that there are several stages in the process
- Help them understand that we (unapologetically) have long timelines
If they insist on speaking to someone about a job, please give them information for Amber or Andrew Toronto rather than any of the departmental leaders.
